1928 E. M. Skinner organ at Rockefeller Chapel (University of Chicago).
This is the first recording since its renovation by Schantz (2008).
Dedicated by Lynwood Farnam, this organ was played by many great musicians including nearby resident Leo Sowerby, and of course, Marcel Dupré. A Bach recital by Dupré not only filled the cathedral-sized space but apparently left 3000 listeners outside to hear the concert through the open doors. This was also the organ on which Dupré taught about 50 American students in the 1950s, many of whom became significant teachers and performing artists.
